Shannon Gerryts

Senior Project Manager, New Developments, Skyline Capital Projects Management Inc.

Shannon is responsible for overseeing SkyDev’s new developments from conception to completion. Her responsibilities include participation in initial building design, overseeing project budgets, and managing changes of project scope. She works closely with SkyDev’s general contractors to ensure every development project is delivered as designed.

Shannon joined Skyline in 2019 with 23 years of experience in the construction industry. She first began her construction career during high school, where she worked on-site at builds for Ball Construction, specializing in health & safety. Her construction management experience now spans many build types including multi-residential, hotel, and industrial. She has also worked in building restoration and re-purposing, notably the Witton Lofts, an award-winning six-storey luxury condo redevelopment in Hamilton, ON, transformed from an old three-storey schoolhouse.

Shannon takes a collaborative approach to managing her team. She thrives in an environment that consistently offers new challenges and growth opportunities, and she makes the most of every opportunity to problem-solve with her team. She understands the importance of ensuring her team atmosphere is enjoyable, work is meaningful, and staff are valued and shown appreciation for a job well done.

A strong advocate for the promotion and advancement of women in the construction industry, Shannon is a member of Women In Construction (WINC) through the Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA). She has shared her insight on her own career challenges and successes on Skyline’s International Women’s Day discussion panel.

In addition to her WINC membership, Shannon is a strong advocate for continuous self-development. She continues to hone and refine her industry knowledge through courses, events, and other learning opportunities. On her own time, Shannon has renovated several houses.

Shannon holds a Gold Seal Certification with the Canadian Construction Association.
